This is necessary to calculate the air density and determine the engine’s air mass flow rate, which in turn is used to calculate the appropriate fuel flow. Customarily vehicles have a MAF or a MAP sensor, but not both. In this instance you have to fool the sensor you have. Some vehicles have both a MAF and a MAP sensor. In this case you are best off tweaking the MAF sensor alone. If your vehicle is fitted with both sensor types and your treatment of MAF doesn’t deliver noticeable results, try treating the MAP instead, but don’t trick both sensors. There are two types of MAF and MAP sensors.
